About Kerry Washington
Actress and producer Kerry Marisa Washington, born 31st January 1977 in The Bronx, New York City, showed an interest in performing at a young age. Washington pursued her passion, getting a degree in performance studies from George Washington University. She made her film debut in Our Song, and appeared in Save the Last Dance, Bad Company, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Fantastic Four, and Boston Legal. Kerry gained attention for her role in Ray and The Last King of Scotland, appeared in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and had a recurring role in Boston Legal. Washington received high praise for her role as Olivia Pope in Shonda Rhimes hit show, Scandal, which she scored several Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe nomination for her performance. Kerry earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role in Confirmation, and an Emmy nomination for her role in Little Fires Everywhere opposite Reese Witherspoon.
