The legendary Mariska Hargitay, born January 23rd 1964 in Santa Monica, is best known for the iconic role of Olivia Benson in Law & Order: SVU. Mariska studied theatre at UCLA, and appeared in an array of projects during the 80’s and 90’s. Hargitay landed roles in Downtown, Falcon Crest, Baywatch, Tequila and Bonetti, Can’t Hurry Love, and a slew of other roles before her breakout role in ER. Mariska later landed the lead role in Law & Order: SVU, which she’s played for over twenty years. Her performance as the detective won her an Emmy and a Golden Globe. She also appears as her Olivia in Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. The actress also made an appearance in Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood music video. Swift is a Law & Order: SVU fan and named her cat after Mariska’s character, Olivia Benson.
