About Penelope Cruz
Oscar-winning actress Penelope Cruz, born 28th April 1974 in Alcobendas, Spain, studied ballet at Spain's National Conservatory. Penelope won a talent agency competition and went on to dance in music videos and host a Spanish TV show. Cruz made her film debut in Jamón Jamón, which she won the Spanish Actors Union Newcomer Award and the Goya Award for best lead actress. Penelope starred in The Age of Beauty which won an Oscar, several Goya Awards and won her a Spanish Actors Union Award for best supporting performance. The actress appeared in the Oscar-winning movie Todo Sobre Mi Madre. Jumping to Hollywood, she won an Oscar for her performance in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. She also landed a slew of roles including Sex and the City 2, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, To Rome with Love, Zoolander 2, Murder on the Orient Express. In a career highlight, Cruz took on the iconic role of Donatella Versace in American Crime Story.
