About Tyrese Gibson
Tyrese Gibson, who mainly goes by his first name, was born on December 30, 1978, in Los Angeles, California. Throughout the 1990s, Tyrese landed appearances in ads for various companies such as Tommy Hilfiger, Coca-Cola, and Guess. He signed a contract with RCA Records in 1998, and shortly after released the single “Nobody Else”, which went to #36 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. A few months later, he released his debut album entitled Tyrese, which shot to #17 on the Billboard charts. The most popular hit from the album, however, was the track “Sweet Lady”, for which he won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Male Vocal Performance. The album would later be certified Platinum. Tyrese would go on to release 2000 Watts in 2001, I Wanna Go There in 2002, the mixtapes Best of Both Hoodz, Vol. 1 and Ghetto Royalty in 2006, Alter Ego in 2006, and Open Invitation in 2011. In addition to a successful music career, Tyrese gained even more popularity for his repeat role in the Fast & Furious movie franchise.
