About After 7
After 7 is an American musical group that was formed in 1987 in Bloomington, Indiana, United States. The group was formed by Indianapolis natives Kevon Elmonds, Melvin Edmonds and Keith Mitchell at Indiana University.
The group landed a major label deal with Virgin which issued the hit debut single Heat of the Moment. The single was written and produced by Babyface and L.A. Reid as the track broke into the Billboard R&B chart in July 1989 peaking at #5. Their self-titled debut album After 7 followed shortly after and went platinum featuring the super hot singles Ready or Not and Can’t Stop. Takin’ My Time was released in 1992. The band also dropped Kickin’ It and Baby, I’m for Real which preceded Reflections. Their fourth straight Top Ten R&B album Timeless was released in 2016 and Unfinished Business was dropped in 2021 featuring Tomorrrow Can Wait.
