Born on July 23, 1971, in Decatur, Illinois, United States, Alison Maria Krauss is an award-winning American country and bluegrass music singer and musician. She is the third most awarded artist with 27 Grammys under her belt, after Quincy Jones and classical conductor Georg Solti. She started singing at the age of 10 and soon became a child prodigy in the world of country music. In 1987, she released her debut album Too Late to Cry with Union Station at the age of 16 and garnered the attention of pop audiences nationwide. Her first solo album I’ve Got That Old Feeling released in 1990 earned her first Grammy Award. From then on, she became a rising success with her versatile talent, warm personality and melodious vocals helping her reach international stardom. Her notable albums include Every Time You Say Goodbye (1992), So Long So Wrong (1997), New Favorite (2001) and Raising Sand (2007), all of which won Grammy Awards. She was also crowned with the National Medal of Arts by Former President Donald Trump in 2019
