Beenie Man, born Anthony Moses Davis, is a reggae artist, DJ, writer, and actor. Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, Davis got an incredibly early start to his music career. At only eight years old, he recorded his first single, “Too Fancy.” Two years later, Davis released his debut album, The Invincible Beenie Man: The 10 Year Old DJ. This was followed by several more albums, including 1998’s The Doctor, and 2000’s The Art & Life. In 2008, Davis co-wrote and starred in the film, Kingston, and in 2016, he released his most recent album, Unstoppable.
Beenie Man won 1994’s ‘DJ of the Year’ award at the Jam Music Awards for his single “World Dance.” He has collaborated with fellow artists Wyclef Jean, Mya, Janet Jackson, Bunny Lee, Akon, Major Lazer, and Barrington Levy.
