Born in January 21, 1950, Billy Ocean or legally known as Leslie Sebastian Charles, is from Fyzabad, Trinidad and Tobago. He then worked as a tailor in London, while performing in clubs back when he was still a teenager. As an English R&B singer, Billy Ocean became known because of his songs “Lover Boy: and “Caribbean Queen.”
He won a Grammy Award for the Best Male R&B Vocal Performance category. Aside from being a singer himself, he also wrote songs for other big names like LaToya Jackson and Boyzone. Back in 1993, Billy Ocean recorded with R. Kelly the album entitled “Time to Move On.” He was also nominated for Brit Award back in 1987.
