About Def Leppard
Coming from Sheffield, England, United Kingdom, Def Leppard was formed in 1977. Their music was usually compared with the likes of Queen, and Led Zeppelin. The band achieved a crossover success with their 1983’s “Pyromania.” In 1987, their blockbuster “Hysteria” appeared. The band was originally formed by Rick Savage and Pete Willis. After several months, other members Hoe Elliott, Mott the Hoole and T. Rex joined.
In 1978, their debut EP “Getcha Rocks Off” was released under their own label Bludgeon Riffola. Def Leppard quickly became subject of British music. They were able to sign under Mercury Records releasing their full-length debut “On Through The Night” in 1980. It reached 51st spot on the charts.
