About Faith Evans
Singer-songwriter Faith Renee Evans was born on June 10, 1973, in Lakeland, Florida, to an Italian-American father and an African-American mother. After her father left their family when Evans was little, her mother moved her up to New Jersey to live with an aunt. Faith Evans showed a passion for singing and for music early on, and when she was only 19, she met Sean "Diddy" Combs, who was so impressed with her that he signed her to his label Bad Boy Records. Evans recorded and released her debut album Faith in 1995, shortly after her very public marriage to rapper Notorious B.I.G. The album did extremely well thanks to the songs “Soon as I Get Home” and “You Used to Love Me”, and eventually went Platinum.
After the success of her first album, Faith Evans would go on to release Keep the Faith in 1998, Faithfully in 2001, The First Lady in 2005, Something About Faith in 2010, and Incomparable in 2014. Faith Evans has attained tremendous success throughout her career, and despite various setbacks and complications in her personal life, has nevertheless forged on to become a multi-nominated Grammy Artist.
