Ghostface Killah, born Dennis Coles is a New York rapper best known as a founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan. On their classic 1993 debut, Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), he established himself as an immediate standout with his cartoonish storytelling and distinctively aggressive cadence. In addition to the successes of the Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah also launched one of the most successful solo careers to come out of the group. Over the course of the ‘90s and 2000s, he released a string of successful solo albums that many regard among the all-time greatest hip hop records, cementing his status as one of the greatest and most influential emcees to step up to the mic. His 2006 album Fishscale is often cited as one of the strongest Wu-Tang solo efforts, and 2000’s Supreme Clientele was ranked by music blog Pitchfork as the #11 greatest album of the decade. His most recent project, Twelve Reasons To Die II, boasted features from a number of Wu-Tang affiliates and was released to critical acclaim.
