About Pink
Singer/songwriter and model Pink was born Alecia Beth Moore Hart on September 8, 1979, in Abington, Pennsylvania. She was originally a bandmate in the group Choice, yet debuted as a solo artist in 2000 with her single “There You Go”. Pink followed the initial success of the single with her debut album Can’t Take Me Home, which eventually went double Platinum. Her 2001 album Missundaztood marked her switch from an R&B sound to one that was more pop/rock, and is seen as her most successful endeavor to date. The album featured the singles “Get the Party Started”, “Just Like a Pill” and “Don’t Let Me Get Me”, all of which charted extremely high in the US and in the UK. 2003 saw the release of her third album Try This, for which she won a Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. Pink would go on to release I’m Not Dead in 2006, Funhouse in 2008, and The Truth About Love in 2012. Outside of her singing career, Pink has been known to be an active supporter of PETA and was named a spokesmodel for CoverGirl in 2012.
