About Robin Thicke
Robin Charles Thicke was born in Los Angeles, California, on March 10, 1977. He is the son of Gloria Loring and Alan Thicke, both well-known throughout the entertainment industry. Early on in his career, Thicke was able to work closely with singer Brian McKnight, and landed a position writing songs for popular singers through Interscope Records. Working together with Andre Harrell, the former CEO of Uptown Records, Thicke released his debut album A Beautiful World in 2003. Thicke later released his breakthrough album The Evolution of Robin Thicke, which included the major hit “Lost Without U”. The album went platinum and sold more than 1.6 million copies in the U.S. alone, and won him the 2007 VH1 Soul/Vibe Award for “Best Breakthrough Artist”.
After the huge success of his second album, Thicke went on to release three more: Sex Therapy: The Experience in 2009, Love After War in 2011, and his most recent Blurred Lines in 2013, which sold 174,000 copies in its first week and whose song “Blurred Lines” shot to the #1 spot in the country. Thicke is currently working on his newest album Paula, which is a bittersweet tribute to his estranged wife, Paula Patton.
