Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques (born January 9, 1973, in Kingston, Jamaica) is a Grammy Award-winning reggae-dancehall icon whose infectious rhythms and crossover appeal have cemented him as one of Jamaica’s most successful global artists. He made his official debut with Stage One (2000), which included early hits like “Deport Them,” “Infiltrate,” and “Baby Girl.” His follow-up album, Dutty Rock (2002), became a global smash, earning the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2004. Featuring chart-topping singles like “Get Busy,” “Gimme the Light,” and “Like Glue,” the album helped bring dancehall into the international mainstream.
