About T.I.
Born Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr. on September 25, 1980, in Atlanta, Georgia, he has been called the “Jay-Z of the South” by Pharrell Williams. Known as the “King of the South”, “Rubberband Man”, and “T.I.P”, rapper and producer T.I (TI) enjoyed success and spotlight since the release of his debut album in 1981. His first album, titled I’m Serious, came out when he was 21 years old and brought him just the right amount of attention that he needed to jumpstart his career. However, he decided to take a break from the rapping to focus on beginning his own recording company, which he named Grand Hustle. Part businessman and part rapper, T.I. worked on and released his second studio album, Trap Muzik, in August of 2003, which sold over 2.1 million copies.
Since then, T.I. has had an extremely successful career, released eight studio albums and appearing on a number of other artists’ tracks, including the Destiny’s Child hit “Soldier”. In 2007, he landed a part in the movie American Gangster alongside A-list actors such as Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington. He later married his long-time girlfriend Tameka “Tiny” Cottle on July 30, 2010, and together the couple has two sons.
