Born in December 22, 1960, Luther Roderick Campbell or simply known as Luke (or Luke Skyywalker), is of a Miami, Florida descent. He is the entrepreneur behind 2 Live Crew. He also owns the Luke Records, and once became the most controversial hip-hop figure in the country. Back in 1987, Luke formed the national campaign against obscene lyrics.
He became a solo artist, releasing his own disc as “Luke Featuring 2 Live Crew.” The album “Banned in the U.S.A.” was a parody for Bruce Springsteen's “Born in the U.S.A.” He also released the album “I’ve Got a Shit on My Mind.” He won a Supreme Court decision which rules out his parody of “Oh, Pretty Woman” by Roy Orbison.
